Finish Chelsea's Run in Balboa Park on March 5, 2011
On March 5, Gretchen, Grandma Vicky and I participated in "Finish Chelsea's Run" along with 6,000 other San Diegans. Chelsea King was a 17 year old cross-country runner from Poway, San Diego. She was attacked and murdered while on her jog through the park. Here is a recent article on the story: article link
I can't imagine the emotions her parent's (and little brother) felt when they saw 6,000 people running in honor of their daughter....unbelievable. We were happy to participate and "Finish Chelsea's Run" and hope to run in the years to come. She has turned into an inspiration for the entire community.

Good for you, Marg. I can picture little Gretchen as a runner, following in your footsteps (and grandma Diane's, too, of course).
